School Council Visit to Houses of Parliament

On Monday, our School Council enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the Houses of Parliament in London. The children had a fantastic day learning about the history and importance of one of the country's most famous buildings.

During their visit, the pupils discovered many interesting facts about how Parliament works and the role it plays in making decisions that affect our lives. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the magnificent throne used by the King during the State Opening of Parliament.

The group also had the opportunity to take in some of London's most iconic landmarks, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. Seeing these famous sights up close made the visit even more special and helped bring their learning to life.

Another highlight was meeting John Spellar, the former MP for Smethwick. The children were able to ask questions about his role as a Member of Parliament and learn more about public service and representing local communities. They were excellent ambassadors for our school and impressed everyone they met with their enthusiasm, curiosity and impeccable manners.
