As part of our Year 1 the children's work in R.E they have been learning about Sikhism and the Langar kitchen. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit a Langar kitchen this year. But there was no need to worry, as Mrs Sangha came to the rescue. The Langar kitchen came to Cape. The classroom was rearranged and set up ready for a Langar kitchen, the children sat in rows with their meal trays and learnt about the importance of sharing and giving. Mrs Sangha had cooked enough roti, lentil dhal, rice pudding and yoghurt for all of the children to participate in a Langar kitchen experience. She was up at 3am on Monday morning in order to make 60 fresh roti for the children to try! It really was a memorable experience for the children and a big thank you to Mrs Sangha for working so hard to make all of the food.
