OQ in Year 5 has written two beautiful poems all about caring for our environment. They are amazing!

Environmental Damage

Please don't participate in deforestation,

We should not harm Earth's creation,

The trees are dying: try to plant more,

Don't throw litter on the sea-shore,

 

Our population is increasing,

Animal habitats are decreasing,

The icecaps are melting,

The sun's heat is pelting.

 

Animals are losing their domains,

Exhaust is coming from cars and air-planes,

We have a protective layer: the ozone,

We cause harm by overusing our phones.

 

Creatures are losing their young,

They are not growing to be strong,

We are polluting water, air and earth,

There's a big impact on Earth.

 

Habitats and Creatures by OQ

 

We used to have lots of greenery,

It used to set the scenery,

Not, nature is being damaged,

Animals are becoming caged.

 

We're growing too many crops,

Destroying nature, just to build shops,

We're destroying animal habitats,

Using fur to make mats.

 

We're losing oxygen; plants are dying,

We shouldn't be happy: we should be crying,

We release gases every day,

The gases are now to stay.

 

Nature is withering,

Beauty is slithering,

Acid rain is descending,

Greenhouse gases are ascending.

 

Oil in Water by OQ

 

Oil companies release oil,

The birds that get sticky have to toil,

It can pollute the soil,

In seas we've found oil, garbage and foil.
