  • Cape Kids make us proud!

    Mon 19 Sep 2016

Today saw our Year Six classes participate in an assembly and workshops linked to Anti-bullying and Domestic Violence. At the end of the session the workshop leaders made a special effort to knock on my door and tell me how much they enjoyed delivering the sessions. They said our Year Six children were mature and sensitive in dealing with and discussing some very delicate subjects. Well done and thank you Year Six, this is why you make me so proud!

On a separate well done, the supply teacher in Year 5 today left at the end of the day saying "I bet people are always telling you what lovely children you have at Cape". My response was "Of course, our children are wonderful", well done 5PS.

  • Developments at Cape!

    Wed 07 Sep 2016

It has been a very busy summer at Cape. There have been a few developments that have happened. The whole of the playground, car park and front entrance of school has been resurfaced. The area was in much need of repair and looks lovely. The School Council will be asking for suggested designs to be painted on the surface. We will also be putting some planters at the front of school to soften the area. We have even managed to create a ramp from the main entrance out on to the playground so there will be no more pushchairs and steps at the end of the day.

When the School Council wrote their contribution to our School Improvement Plan they asked us for more games and a nicer playground. We have achieved this and are now providing 3 play leaders at lunchtime to support outdoor games and a healthy lifestyle. The children also asked for the Junior Hall to be painted. This has been done and it makes KS2 look fresh and bright.

Our Year 6 girls toilets have been refitted and refreshed and look great in purple!

The old Art Base has been redeveloped to create a lovely new learning mentor base. The children and staff have been given a budget to refit the room in a style of their choice.

What a great way to start the year!

  • Welcome Back!

    Wed 07 Sep 2016

Welcome back to school! I hope everybody has had a wonderful summer break and are ready to start the new school year. In assembly today we talked about the wonderful Olympics that took place during the holidays and in particular the achievement of Mo Farah. After watching a short clip of Mo winning the 10,000m after he tripped whilst running the children thought about all of the emotions and skills Mo had to possess in that race. The children came up with some fabulous ideas. The key message however was don't give up! Mo didn't give up, he got up after his fall and just kept going and his hard work and effort paid off. We must remember this in school each and every day!

Our new school uniform looks wonderful, so many people have commented on how smart the children look. Thank you for your support and please remember to ensure your child wears the correct uniform each and every day.
