We would like to wish all of the families and the community of Cape Primary a very happy and peaceful Christmastime and a blessed new year.
Please remember to look after yourselves and each other and enjoy some family time together.
Back to School Thursday 6th January 2022!
Another thank you goes to our friends at West Bromwich Albion who have kindly donated some wonderful food parcels to help families cook 5 nutritious meals over the festive period. Four of our families will benefit from these generous donations. Thank you WBA - keep up the good work!
We would just like to share a huge thank you to the Salvation Army for their continued kindness in helping families at this time of year with food parcels and presents for children. We know what a difficult time of year this can be and without the kindness and support of charities it can be very hard for some people. Thank you from everyone at Cape to the wonderful Salvation Army!
We are disappointed this year that we cannot put on our usual performances in school. Our EYFS children always look forward to the Nativity, KS1 children Christmas songs and poems and our Year 5 children a show. This is always a chance for the children to show off their talents to the parents and staff and let's us celebrate how wonderful our children are.
This year is a little different in school again, so we took the decision early on not to have our traditional performances in school in order to protect children, families and staff from any potential spread of COVID-19. So instead we have been practising some Christmas songs. Each class has learnt a song and are performing it in their Christmas jumpers or special clothes today. We will be putting the videos onto our video resource centre in the next couple of days for parents to view. Look out for the naughty elf who may be popping up in some of the videos and a coded message that you will need to unravel!
The videos can be found by clicking here.
We would like to remind all parents of the importance of getting a PCR test for a child or any family member displaying any of the symptoms of COVID-19. We have recently seen the Omicron variant present in the UK. It would appear transmissibility of the variant is higher than previous COVID-19 variants. Please be extra vigilant with the run up to the school holidays.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
If you have any of these symptoms, get a PCR test (test that is sent to a lab) to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result, even if the symptoms are mild.
We break up for the Christmas holiday on Friday 17th December at 1.30pm and return on Thursday 6th January.
Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th January are staff INSET so closed to pupils.
